Advokatguiden.no was founded in 2020 and is owned and operated by Advokatguiden AS, registered in Oslo, Norway. We are part of TheLawyerGuide — the global parent brand — which also operates Legaly.ch in Switzerland and AdvokatGuiden.dk in Denmark. Each country site is run by people on the ground in that market, against the same editorial standards.

Advokatguiden.no is a Norwegian user-centric service for finding and ranking lawyers. We list every practicing lawyer, paralegal and legal assistant in Norway — close to 10,000 professionals in total. Over a thousand have already claimed their profile, hundreds carry a Premium subscription, and we have published thousands of client reviews.

Our core promise is that our directory of Norwegian lawyers stays accurate and current. We refresh from the Tilsynsrådet for Advokatvirksomhet (the Norwegian Bar Association's supervisory body) — the authoritative source for who is authorised to practice law in Norway.

Editorial standards & sourcing

Our directory of Norwegian lawyers is sourced primarily from the Tilsynsrådet for Advokatvirksomhet, the public supervisory body that maintains the official register of advocates, paralegals (rettshjelpere) and trainees (advokatfullmektiger) in Norway. We re-sync against that register on a regular cadence so that suspensions, withdrawals, and new admissions show up here within days.

Profile claims by lawyers themselves are verified against the same register before a profile is activated as Premium. We never paywall the fact that a lawyer is registered — the Tilsynsrådet listing is public information.

Reviews are published by clients, identified by a confirmed email address, and moderated for personal attacks and identifiable third-party detail. Lawyers are notified of new reviews and given the right of reply on their profile. We disclose paid placements (Featured Search) with a 'Featured' badge inline in results so readers can tell at a glance.
